What is Massage?

Massage is a method of hands on healing and relaxation for the body, mind and soul.

It consists of varying strokes and movements using the hands, with oil as appropriate the client.

It focuses on the superficial and deeper layers of the muscles and has a beneficial effect on the rest of the body and its internal systems.

How Does Massage Work?

Massage improves circulation by bringing oxygen and other nutrients to the body tissues.

It relieves muscle tension and pain, increases flexibility and mobility and helps clear lactic acid and other waste, which reduces pain and stiffness in the muscles and joints.

How Does a Massage Session Work?

A typical massage therapy session is between 60
and 90 minutes, depending on if you have a half or full body massage.

Your massage will begin with a brief consultation and review of symptoms, medical history and lifestyle.

I use a light massage oil or lotion on the skin. A full body massage usually begins on the back and then moves down to the legs. You will then be asked to turn over so you are face up. The massage continues on your feet, legs,
abdomen, chest, arms, neck, and head.

A half body massage includes the back, shoulders and arms, neck and head.
